Michael Wex is the New York Times bestselling author of Born to Kvetch , How to Be a Mentsh (And Not a Schmuck) and several other books. He is an authority on Yiddish language and culture who knows Jewish Kensington from the inside out. He’s davened (prayed) in its synagogues, patronized its shops and restaurants, explored its past, lived some of its history, and performed on a few of its stages. He was an original member of Storytelling Toronto, back when it was centered on Kensington Avenue, and has also appeared on NBC’s Today show and NPR’s Fresh Air with Terry Gross.
